Entries are now being accepted for the 39th annual Greater Atlanta Women’s Amateur Championship, which takes place May 20-22 at Northwood Country Club in Lawrenceville. This event is open to female amateur golfers who are GSGA members and Georgia residents.
The format of the event is 54 holes of stroke play over three days. Last year, Newnan’s Jean Reynolds ran away from the field as she carded rounds of 69, 71 and a final-round 74 to finish at even-par 216. Reynolds wire-to-wire victory at the 2007 Greater Atlanta gave her the third win of her GSGA-career, as she has captured two Georgia Top 60 Women’s Classic titles (2003 and 2005). The 2008 event will be the first GSGA-sanctioned event held at Northwood Country Club.
Qualified players may enter online at the GSGA website (www.gsga.org) by clicking the Online Registration quick link. Paper entries are available by request and may also be downloaded as a PDF file via the GSGA website. The deadline for entries is Wednesday, April 30 at 5:00 p.m.
Any questions regarding GSGA competitions may be directed to the Rules and Competitions Department at 770-955-4272 or 800-949-4742, or via email at info@gsga.org.
