vet program at mcfarland hills1.jpg

Jaycob Baker, 5, salutes as a flag is raised at McFarland Hills Baptist Church on Sunday morning during a Veterans Day program at the church. Nicholas Moser, 16, of Dalton, placed the flag pole, laid stones, placed benches, planted bushes around it and installed a solar light on top for his Eagle Scout project. The flag pole was dedicated on Sunday for Veterans Day, which is today, in a brief ceremony where all veterans in attendance were recognized and thanked for their service. The flag pole was placed in the church’s community park, which has picnic tables. Church Pastor Charles Rogers said many times workers at some of the industries in the area have lunch at the small park, and he’s glad to have the flag pole be part of that area now.
