A Dalton welding supplies firm has seen its workforce doubled from three to six after being acquired by a Tennessee company last week.
Holston Gases Inc. completed its acquisition of Dalton-based H.H.C. Welding Supplies Inc. last Friday for an undisclosed amount.
Holston owner Bill Baxter said the company has already added three workers to the Dalton operations. Holston has some 300 employees in six states.
“This will give H.H.C. the broad product lines that we have at Holston, industrial, medical and beverage gases as well as an expanded range of equipment, welding supplies, industrial supplies, contractor supplies, safety supplies,” said Baxter. “It gives us an opportunity to have a direct presence in north Georgia. “We’ve been in Chattanooga for many, many years and served customers down that way. But now, with an actual location in north Georgia, we’ll have a much greater presence.
Founded 55 years ago, Holston Gases is based in Knoxville, Tenn., and has 23 locations in Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Virginia and North Carolina.
