Dalton State College will welcome a new player in uniform tonight when the Roadrunners host Southern Wesleyan at the trade center.
Erich Allen, a 6-foot-7-inch, 225-pound sophomore forward, has been practicing with the team all season and regained his eligibility with the completion of the fall semester. A native of Jacksonville, Fla., who played at Fleming Island High School averaged 10.3 points per game in limited playing time at Montreat (N.C.) College during his freshman year.
“It could not happen at a better time,” Dalton State coach Tony Ingle said in a release from the school. “Erich is a versatile player who can play inside-out. We need him for rebounding to provide added depth. He has been practicing for a long time and we are excited for him.”
The Roadrunners (11-1) host the Warriors (8-4) in a rematch of a previous meeting Dalton State won on the road in overtime, 97-95. Tipoff is 7 p.m.
