From Staff Reports
The Dalton State College women’s volleyball team lost 25-20, 25-18, 25-18 to Reinhardt University on Tuesday in Waleska, falling to 0-2 in the Roadrunners’ inaugural season.
It was the season opener for Reinhardt.
In a release from the Dalton State athletic department, Roadrunners coach Bruna Langner said her team started the match strong “but seemed to fall apart” as it progressed. That was different from a week ago, when the Roadrunners began their season with a loss at Southern Wesleyan University but reserved their best play for the end.
“I can live with physical errors, but I did not think we were sharp mentally or played well as a unit,” Langner said, adding that she takes “full responsibility for that” and would make sure it is “a one-time occurrence.”
Dalton State’s Alyne Bianchi had five kills, while Anna Dykes added four.
The Roadrunners had planned to face Lee University in Cleveland, Tenn., in an exhibition match tonight. Instead, that match will be a closed scrimmage. On Saturday, they’ll play two matches in Williamsburg, Ky., first versus Berea College at 2 p.m. and then against match host University of the Cumberlands at 4 p.m.
