Senior visits seniors

University of Georgia senior Ben Clark recently visited with North Murray High School seniors.

Clark spoke to seniors as they embark on senior project for this school year and are getting ready to write their personal statements and personal essays in preparation for college applications, internships and job applications in the near future.

The students were very interested to hear from a college student who is currently dealing with juggling college classes while maintaining good grades and working a part-time job. North Murray seniors had questions about adjusting to college life in that first year.

Clark shared some of his experiences and answered questions informally and then went on to share his knowledge on writing a great personal essay. His experience as an English and philosophy major at UGA has provided ample opportunity for him to learn what characteristics make a solid personal essay and may help students stand out to an admissions officer during that very competitive application process.

North Murray students will continue to work on their senior project throughout the school year. Once the project is complete, they will have created several resumes, written four college application essays, researched a career of interest, and thoroughly investigated at least two colleges or technical schools that will help students reach the career of their choice.
