Who can take a sunrise, sprinkle it in dew and cover it in chocolate and a miracle or two?
Artistic Civic Theatre has the answer as the children’s wing presents “Willy Wonka Jr.” June 23-26 at 7 p.m. and June 27 at 10 a.m. at the ACT Playhouse in Dalton.
Based on the classic tale “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” this stage adaptation features delightful songs such as “(I’ve Got a) Golden Ticket,” “Pure Imagination,” “Oompa-Loompa” and, of course, “The Candy Man.”
“Willy Wonka Jr.” is directed by Mary Rose Threet and features more than 40 young performers including Robb Andersen, Caroline Coleman, Haley Weaver, Daniel Satterfield, Emily Burgess, Colin Farrell, Taitlyn Chesser, Sidney Hanks, Allie Lusk, Callie Walker, Hannah Etheridge, Aaron Buckner, Emeline Phinney, Madison Lester, Mollie Snyder, Molly Poplin, Sheridan Fromm, Preston Poag and Kate Orr.
Also featured are Samuel Martin, Caitlin Armstrong, McKayla McHan, Sarah Kate Coleman, Merrill Walker, Kate Phinney, Griffin Rhudy, Laura Kate Wright, Daniel Wright, Meg Phinney, Kristen Halman, Jack Sanderson, Sophia Shepherd, Chloe Peters, Cassia Mugge, Skylar Fromm, Lily Claire Golden, Amber Fischer, Savannah Bates, Leightta Sherrill, Sydney Holloway and Katie Patrick.
