Holiday events at Heritage Point

The Dalton Recreation Center schedule for its annual Independence Day celebration at Heritage Point and James Brown Park (events at Heritage Point unless noted).

8 a.m. — Horseshoe tournament at James Brown Park

2 to 6 p.m. — Pool opens at James Brown Park

2 p.m. — Registration and information booth opens. Gates at Heritage Point East open. Little Miss Recreation, Home Run Derbies and more.

4 p.m. — Little Miss Recreation (stage)

4:30 p.m. — Women’s Home Run Derby (Bring your own pitcher), Field 3

5 p.m. to dark — Entertainment with various acts

5 p.m. — Ballet Folklore Dancers

5:30 p.m. — Men’s Home Run Derby (Bring your own pitcher), Field 3

5:30 to 8 p.m. — Georgia Country Music Showcase

8 p.m. — U.S. citizenship oath

8:15 to 8:45 p.m. — Jacob Bryant Band

8:45 to 9 p.m. — Cory Sims

9 to 9:30 p.m. — Cross Plains Band

9:45 to 10:15 p.m. — Fireworks (music by Sweet Southern Entertainment)
