ChristChurch Presbyterian Church of Dalton has announced the opening of The Rapha House, a Christian-based community counseling ministry. The Rapha House is at 111 Ella Lane, on the ChristChurch property just behind the church on Tibbs Road. “Rapha” is Hebrew for “to heal, to restore to health.”
“We chose the name because it represents our mission,” said Phyllis Spahn, director of the counseling center, a professional licensed counselor and registered/licensed dietitian.
In addition to Spahn, two other counselors have joined the Rapha House staff; Bucky Broadrick and Aaron Shaner. The Rapha House is a fee-based outreach ministry to members of the community seeking counsel and advice on a wide range of emotional, social and spiritual issues. The staff provides professional, confidential assistance to individuals, couples, families and groups. They are also available to provide services such as educational seminars, nutrition and medicine consultations, and life/transition coaching.
“To be able to offer our community the variety of counseling services that we can, with the total support of ChristChurch, is an awesome privilege and opportunity,” Spahn added. “This is a wonderful community service to help those people and families who are going through difficult times and need a confidential place to seek help.”
