— • Bethel AME Church will host its annual Men’s Day program on Sunday at 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. The theme is “A new man for a new year.” The guest speaker at 11 a.m. will be David Arnold, a member of the church. The guest speaker at 3:30 p.m. will be the Rev. Hugh Don Caldwell, pastor of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Curryville. Co-chairmen for Men’s Day are Gary Calhoun, James Stephens and Michael Padgett.

• The Methodist Men of Chatsworth First United Methodist Church will have a pancake breakfast today from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tickets are $5 and include pancakes, sausage and juice. Dine in or take out is available. The church is at 107 W. Cherokee St. Proceeds support various community projects.

• Christ the King Lutheran Church continues the contemporary Lenten vespers service each Wednesday of Lent at 7 p.m. The order of service is “Holden Evening Prayer.” Each service includes an interactive Bible study. Everyone is invited to a soup supper at 6 p.m. before the study.

• City View Church of God has a gospel singing on Sunday at 6 p.m. featuring The Hullender Family and Under Grace. Everyone is welcome.

• The Fifth Sunday Union will be Sunday, March 30, at 10 a.m. at Liberty Baptist Church, at 504 S. Pentz St. in Dalton. The speaker will be Minister Melanie Prather. The Rev. Thomas Hall and the Rev. Jerry Burse invite everyone.

• “Music from the Heart” headed by Lewis Taylor is a bluegrass and country group that will provide entertainment at the New Horizons meeting at First Baptist Church of Dalton on Tuesday at 6 p.m. The meeting is for people ages 55 and over. The meal is $5. Reservations should be made by calling (706) 278-2076.

• The Providence Ministries Women’s Choir will sing Sunday, March 30, at 5:30 p.m. at Five Springs United Methodist Church. Pastor Ann Fleming invites everyone. The church is on Five Springs Road in Dalton.

• The Burns Family will be at Gospel Light Tabernacle, 804 Sheridan Ave. in Dalton, on Sunday, March 30, at the 11 a.m. service. Everyone is invited.

• There will be a hay ride and hot dog roast on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Hickory Grove Baptist Church. The fifth Sunday “open mic” singing will be Sunday, March 30, at the church. Everyone is invited to participate or attend the singing. For more information on either event, call (706) 673-5496.

• The quarterly Murray County Gospel Singing Convention will be at Smyrna Baptist Church, south of Chatsworth, on Saturday, March 29, beginning at 7 p.m. Refreshments will follow. The congregation will sing from the well-known Church Hymnal as well as newer Southern gospel songbooks. There will be a one-day shaped-note singing school on Saturday, May 3, at the Old Spring Place Methodist Church from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Composer and editor Charles Towler will teach. • St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, at 901 W. Emery St. in Dalton, will have a rummage sale today at 8 a.m.

• Trinity United Methodist Church hosts a Saturday night sing-along today from 6 to 9 p.m. Music features The Kingdom Seekers, the Dan Sluder Trio, Kathy Nunley and Shalina Jackson. Roger DeVaughn will direct a combined choir, with Cynthia Goforth as accompanist. A $5 admission includes a hot dog plate, which will be served at 5 p.m. Cost for children under 12 is $3.50. Tickets may be purchased in advance at In Heaven’s Name in Dalton and Discovery Home Furnishings in Chatsworth. Tickets may be purchased at the door. The Rev. Sonny Moon, pastor, and choir director Janice Ridley invite everyone. The church is at 901 Veterans Drive in Dalton.  

• The Tunnel Hill United Methodist Men will present their 13th annual supper and singing on Saturday, March 29. Supper will be served in the fellowship hall from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The menu includes grilled chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes, slaw and dessert. The singing  begins at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary. The Kingdom Seekers will be the featured singers. Tickets are available from Tunnel Hill United Methodist members or at the door. Cost is $10 for adults; children under 12 are $4. Everyone is welcome.

• Valley Brook Church of God, at 1474 Mineral Springs Road in Dalton, will have a revival from Sunday, April 6, to Wednesday, April 9. Services will be at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday and at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. Evangelist Matt Hartley, from Cleveland, Tenn., will speak. Everyone is invited. The ladies ministry will have its annual spring yard sale on Saturday, April 26, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tables are available for rent for $10.
