You’re invited to bring your favorite lawn chair or quilt and settle in on the Dalton State quad Thursday evening when the Campus Activities Board presents the a capella group Ball in the House in a free outdoor concert beginning at 7:30.
“Five guys, five voices — that’s it,” is how the Boston indie band describes itself. “Following in the path of classic harmony groups like Boyz II Men, The Temptations and Take 6, with a mix of the classic and the contemporary, the five member vocal band Ball in the House brilliantly blends a wide range of influences, from classic rhythm and blues to pop, hip hop and gospel.”
A review in The Boston Globe put it succinctly: “Ball in the House has everything you would expect to find in a successful pop/rock band; the only thing it doesn’t have is instruments.”
Ball in the House has performed with such artists as The Beach Boys, Gladys Knight, The Jonas Brothers, Jessica Simpson, Fantasia, Blondie, Smokey Robinson, KC and the Sunshine Band, Kool and the Gang and, most recently, Patti Labelle. The group has appeared on “The Today Show,” “CBS This Morning” and “America’s Got Talent.”
The free concert is sponsored by Dalton State’s Campus Activities Board. In case of rain, the concert will be held in Goodroe Auditorium of Gignilliat Memorial Hall.
