Join Run for God program

DALTON — It’s not too late for individuals or churches to participate in the next “Run for God” program.

The 12-week program is set to start at several churches in Whitfield, Murray and Catoosa counties the week of July 12. The program ties Bible studies with running. The program also takes beginner runners and trains them for a 5K. Participants in the next class should be ready to run the 5K at the Dalton Half Marathon on Oct. 16.

To begin a class at your church, contact creator Mitchell Hollis at mitchellh@windstream.net or visit the website, www.runforgod.com. The website is still under construction, but contains information and a link to the program’s Facebook page.

A starter kit includes an instructor’s manual and several DVDs and CDs and costs $189. Student books are $19 apiece.

Church officials must contact Hollis by the second week of June to insure enough material will be available. (Materials are being printed by Lifeway).

Several churches have already committed to hosting a class.
