Here we go Loop de Loop
The Loop, a longtime landmark for runners and walkers in Dalton, continues adding more believers to the idea of physical fitness.
I’m not sure if it was the rush of finishing or the surge of my first energy drink, but hours after completing the Blackfoot Mud Run on Saturday, I’m having a hard time talking myself into cleaning up.
Run for God program to get under way
Mitchell Hollis said he was just trying to help a small group of people.
But it quickly spiraled into much more.
“I don’t know where this thing is headed now,” Hollis said. “It’s gotten far beyond me.”
Hollis developed a 12-week program called “Run for God,” which combines Bible study with a 5K training program. It began as a program for members of his home church, Grove Level Baptist on Cleveland Highway, who were interested in running. But he now has nine other churches in Whitfield, Murray and Catoosa counties committed to begin the program the week of July 12.
Join Run for God program
It’s not too late for individuals or churches to participate in the next “Run for God” program.
Carpet Capital Running Club Banquet: Banquet is a time for accolades
The Carpet Capital Running Club banquet, postponed for a month due to earlier inclement weather, went off without a hitch Saturday night at The Engine Room.
