Prep roundup: Dalton tennis wins sub-region titles

Track and field

• Coahulla Creek swept a four-team track meet with Ridgeland, Ringgold and Southeast.

The Colts scored 97 points, followed by Ringgold (87), Ridgeland (60) and Southeast (10). The Lady Colts scored 94 points, followed by Ridgeland (85), Ringgold (48) and Southeast (10).

Winning for the Coahulla Creek boys were Michael Ward in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 5 minutes, 23 seconds; Jordan Tant (long jump, 18 feet, 7 inches); Josh Fox (triple jump, 37-11); Preston Pangle (800, 2:21); and Josue Dominguez (200, 24.06).

Winning for the Lady Colts were: Keke Caldwell (pole vault, 7-0); A.T. Smith (long jump, 15-9 3/4; triple jump, distance not available); and Ashton Patterson (shot put, 29-7).

Golf

North Murray boys 178, Southeast 191: Colby Hipp shot a 2-over-par 38 to lead the Mountaineers, who also received scoring rounds from Adrian Patino (42), Zach Sanford (48) and Jacob Sexton (50).

Scoring for the Raiders were Jackie Stephens (44), Eric Sosebee (46), Trey Terry (50) and Andrew Head (51).

Ringgold boys 186, Coahulla Creek 199: Playing at Windstone Golf Club in Ringgold, Austin Cole shot a 7-over-par 43 to lead the Colts, who also received scoring rounds from Alec Longmire (50), Ian Conway (53) and Brannon Wilson (53).

Dalton JV boys 183, Southeast 240: Playing at Dalton Golf and Country Club, Matthew Cleary shot a 7-over-par 43 to earn medalist honors for the Cats, who also received scoring rounds from David Kirk (45), Allen Sanchez (46) and Addison Lambert (49)

Southeast had scoring rounds from Hunter Lackey (56), Cole Shirah (59), Jeff Davis (62) and Kyle Rich (63).
