Lucky earns Extra Mile Award at Gordon Hospital

Submitted by Gordon Hospital

CALHOUN — Nathaniel Lucky has been awarded Gordon Hospital’s prestigious Extra Mile Award.

This special award was created by members of the hospital’s Employee Engagement Committee to recognize employees who go above and beyond the call of duty on a regular basis. It is awarded monthly to deserving employees selected by the hospital’s directors.

“I hear compliment after compliment from patients and staff about how wonderful Nate is,” says Kari da Costa, RN, BSN, MBA, director of the Medical/Surgical Department and Center for Wound Healing at Gordon Hospital. “Many times the night shift staff members are not remembered as well by our patients, but Nate is definitely the exception. With a smile on his face, he gives the best care we could ever ask for and he does this every time.”

Lucky, who serves as a Patient Care Technician for Gordon Hospital, says he is very appreciative for the award that recognizes his performance in caring for the well-being of others.

“I truly appreciate Gordon Hospital for giving me the opportunity to work with an excellent group of employees, who love and appreciate their jobs,” he says.

Lucky is a graduate of Detroit Central High School and attended Ivy Tech Community College in Indiana. He and his wife Teresa reside in Calhoun and are the parents of Shonta, Adrian, Najean, and Kenneth. In his spare time, he enjoys model cars, shopping, arts and crafts, and bowling.
