Gordon EMS plans toy drive golf tourney

Submitted by Gordon Hospital

CALHOUN — Officials with Gordon EMS, a service of Gordon Hospital, are providing local golfers with perhaps the best excuse ever to play in a tournament.

It’s all for the kids,” says Courtney Taylor, director of Gordon EMS. “All proceeds will benefit our annual Help Make a Kid Smile Toy Drive.”

The 2013 Toy Drive Golf Tournament is planned for Wednesday, Nov. 27, at the Calhoun Elks Club. Registration begins at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.

“We are currently seeking players and sponsors to help us make this event a success,” Taylor says. “This is a great way to help ensure that our local kids will be smiling at Christmastime.”

The entry fee is $60 per person, $240 per team, and is open to the first 20 teams. Door prizes will be awarded, as well as prizes for first, second, third places, longest drive and closest to the pin. Mulligans will be for sale for $5 each and hole sponsorships are available for $75.

To register to play or to sign up as a sponsor, please email or call (706) 602-7800, ext. 2387.

“Each year, it seems to get more difficult to reach our toy drive goal,” Taylor explains. “Hopefully, this event will help us make a lot more of Calhoun and Gordon County’s kids smile.”
