Gordon Hospital Foundation announces 4th Annual Run For Your Life

Submitted by Gordon Hospital

CALHOUN — Registration is now open for the 4th Annual Run For Your Life Road Race. The event will be held on Tuesday, March 25, at 6:30 p.m. at Gordon Hospital. All proceeds raised from this event will benefit services and facilities at the hospital.

“Each year the race gets better and better,” says Michele Pirkle, director of development for Gordon Hospital. “People are coming from all over our area to participate and we hope it continues to grow and grow. This will be our fourth race and are excited about it once again.”

The Run for Your Life course will start and end in front of Gordon Hospital. Runners and walkers of all ages and capabilities are invited to participate. The course will go through the hospital parking lot to 911 Boulevard, right onto Curtis Parkway, and through the Derby/Normandy/Devonwood neighborhood and then back in a similar fashion. “The course should be familiar to those that have run or walked each year,” says Pirkle. “We are excited about sponsoring the race again. As a hospital, we know how important physical fitness is in keeping ourselves and our families healthy, and we want to emphasize that, but it’s also a great way to raise money for a wonderful cause, which will help all of our community for years to come. You don’t have to be a competitive runner either. You can walk and strollers are welcome too.”

There are a couple of easy ways to register for “Run For Your Life”. The first is by visiting www.active.com or by going to www.gordonhospital.com and clicking on the home page banner. Both of these options will take you to the registration website so that you can do online registration. If you prefer not to register online, you can complete a registration form and mail it back to the foundation along with your entry fee. The registration form can be found at the main information desk at the hospital or by visiting www.gordonhospial.com and clicking on the home page graphic. That link will take you to a downloaded form, where you can print if off and mail it back in to the foundation with your entry fee.

The cost of the race is:

• Early registration (until March 7), $20

• Registration between March 8-March 24, $25

• Race-day registration for everyone including students, $30
