Submitted by Gordon Hospital

CALHOUN — Brittany Harrison has been awarded Gordon Hospital’s prestigious Extra Mile Award.

This special award was created by members of the hospital’s Employee Engagement Committee to recognize employees who go above and beyond the call of duty on a regular basis. It is awarded monthly to a deserving employee selected by the hospital’s directors.

Harrison is employed as a Computerized Tomography (CT) Technologist with the hospital’s Radiology Department.

“During our recent CT project, Brittany did an outstanding job not only as a lead CT technologist, but also as a patient advocate,” says Radiology Department Director Raina Sanford, MBA, CRA, RT (R)(M), RDMS, RVT. “Even under a lot of stress she remained very professional and kind to all our patients. Every patient she interacted with was very complimentary of her care and told me how sweet she was to them. She really worked hard to make the best of a difficult situation and to make sure our patients had the best care possible. She is an asset to our hospital and I am very proud to have her as an employee.”

Harrison, who has been employed by Gordon Hospital for seven years, says she is extremely excited to receive the award.

“It is truly a blessing to work with such a great group of people and for a hospital that genuinely cares about its employees,” she says. “It is an honor to receive this award and definitely makes my work much more enjoyable.”

Harrison earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic Sciences from Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences. She and her husband, Will Harrison, reside in Calhoun. During her spare time, Harrison enjoys running, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family.
