Joshua Potter, nutritional services host for Gordon Hospital’s cafeteria The Spice Rack, has been awarded the hospital’s prestigious Extra Mile Award.
This special award was created by members of the hospital’s Employee Engagement Committee to recognize employees who go above and beyond the call of duty on a regular basis. It is awarded monthly to deserving employees selected by the hospital’s directors.
“Josh's professionalism and dedication are what allows him to provide such high quality patient care,” says Russ Couron, director of nutritional services for Gordon Hospital. “He reaches beyond his role responsibilities by working with nurses and patient care techs to ensure that our patients receive a quality experience. He doesn't make excuses when mistakes happen and takes ownership for working to improve processes. Josh consistently carries a positive attitude even when facing a demanding, stressful situation.”
Potter, who has been employed by Gordon Hospital for one year, says he was pleasantly surprised to learn he had received the award.
“I am very honored to have been selected,” he said. “I had no idea! What a surprise!”
Potter holds an Associate’s Degree in Business Management and resides in Calhoun. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, playing the guitar, and art.
