Gordon Hospital wins Target Award

CALHOUN — Gordon Hospital’s Marketing and Public Relations department was recently honored with a Silver Target Award from the Georgia Society for Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations. The awards are given each year during the annual marketing and public relations conference organized by the Georgia Hospital Association.

The Marketing and Public Relations department was recognized as a winner in the special event category for Ladies’ Night, the hospital’s annual breast cancer education event.

“This is a tremendous honor,” says Kim Brazell, director of marketing and public relations for Gordon Hospital. “This is one of our favorite events and it has grown so much over the last few years. Last year, we had more than 500 women come through the doors. It is nice to have our peers look at our work and have their feedback. I am very proud of our marketing team of Karen Shaw and Lewis “Trey” Jones and the work that we are doing. Awards like this energize us to continue creating marketing collateral that helps our community better understand their health, our services and our commitment to our mission.”

Entries in the this year’s competition were judged by the New England Society and were judged based on creativity, layout and design, functionality, message effectiveness, production quality and overall appeal.
