Gordon Hospital opens Fairmount Family Medicine

CALHOUN — Gordon Hospital officials are pleased to announce the opening of Gordon Hospital Fairmount Family Medicine, located near the downtown square in Fairmount.

According to Mike Skinner, Associate Vice President of Physician Services for Gordon Hospital, the facility is conveniently located at 2712 Highway 411 and officially opened on Monday, January 6.

“We are thrilled to be able to offer this service to the residents on the east side of our county,” Skinner says. “Until the opening of this facility, there were currently no healthcare providers in Fairmount.”

Skinner adds that the opening of the Fairmount facility actually results from the relocation of the Gordon Urgent Care Adairsville practice.

“For many years, Gordon Hospital has maintained a practice presence in Adairsville,” Skinner explains. “Even though it is in Bartow County, its proximity to Gordon Hospital puts Adairsville in our service area and is a vital part of our hospital’s mission.”

However, since Calhoun Medical Group joined with Gordon Hospital on November 1, 2013, Gordon Hospital Adairsville Family Medicine will now serve as the hospital’s primary location of medical service in Adairsville, and the Gordon Urgent Care Adairsville facility was relocated to Fairmount.

Diane Williams, FNP-BC, MS is seeing patients fulltime at the Fairmount facility. She has been employed by Gordon Hospital since 2010 and works in the Urgent Care offices under Pablo Balboa, MD.

Williams, a resident of Dalton, received her Associate of Science in Nursing degree from Dalton College and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of West Georgia. In 2005, she earned a Master of Science degree, Family Nurse Practitioner, from North Georgia College and State University.
