The Erlanger schedule of classes and events for Feb. 25-March 2 includes memory screening and childbirth education. Dare to C.A.R.E. will take place on Saturday, March 2. Cardiac specialist will present information and offer free screenings on heart health. Registration is required. This childbirth education class/series is designed for expectant parents and taught by experienced OB nurses. These classes include stages of labor, relaxation and labor support techniques, hospital procedures, pain management options, after birth and home care for moms and in-hospital care for newborns. Erlanger has teamed up with a national, non-profit group to provide free vascular and cardiac screenings and provide information from board-certified vascular surgeons, cardiologists, and other healthcare providers. If you are age 50 or over; or 40 or over with risk factors such as smoking, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and/or symptoms of peripheral vascular disease, you may qualify for this event.
