CHATTANOOGA — Registered nurses interested in providing a health ministry in their churches or synagogues are invited to join the Faith Community Nurse/Parish Nurse Class offered by Memorial.

The Faith Community Nurse/Parish Nurse Class consists of four 8-hour sessions held on November 14, December 12, January 16 and February 13. All four sessions must be completed to meet course requirements. The application process including tuition deposit is due by November 2, 2012.

“Because of the importance of the spiritual dimension in life and healing, Memorial offers this program to prepare registered nurses to establish health ministry programs in their congregations or faith communities,” explains Connie Blake, Faith Community Nursing Coordinator. “Faith Community/Parish nurses serve as a vital link between health care and church communities. Since the start of the program in 1996 more than 100 RNs have completed the program.”
