Seniors at Santa Barbara High School hired a mariachi band to trail Principal John Becchio on Tuesday. A YouTube video of the senior prank posted by the school district now has more than half a million page views. — USA Today

D.C. principal comes out as ‘proud gay man’ during school’s pride event

A Washington, D.C., high school principal stunned his students Wednesday when he came out as gay during the school’s LGBT pride event. Pete Cahall announced to his students that he is a “proud gay man that just happens to be the principal of (Woodrow) Wilson High School”; the audience erupted into cheers, a local ABC affiliate reported. — The Washington Times

Traces of another world found on the moon

Researchers have found evidence of the world that crashed into the Earth billions of years ago to form the moon. Analysis of lunar rock brought back by Apollo astronauts shows traces of the “planet” called Theia. — BBC

Senators reach bipartisan deal on veterans' health care

Key senators have reached agreement on a bipartisan proposal to address the delays in getting health care for military veterans, Sen. John McCain said on Thursday. — Reuters
