To the editor:
The alumni of West Side High School has been very diligent in their attempt to help Westside Middle School. The grounds of Westside Middle School are sacred to the majority of the Alumni of West Side High School. We no longer have a school to call our own so we claim the grounds of our old high school. I urge all alumni to make a donation of any amount to help build the new field house at Westside Middle. Several classes are pooling their donations for a class brick. Please make your check out to Westside Middle School, include the year you graduated and mail it to West Side Alumni at PO Box 1859, Rocky Face, GA 30740-1859.
My next request is to the parents of children at Tunnel Hill Elementary, Westside Elementary and Westside Middle School to raise their part of the funds needed to build the field house. Westside Middle School will be selling raffle tickets with the first prize being a Wii game system, second prize will be a $100 VISA gift card and the third prize is an iPod shuffle. Tickets are $2 each or three for $5. Please contact the school at 706-673-2611 if you would like to buy tickets.
My last request is to the Westside and Tunnel Hill communities. Our tax dollars do not provide for field houses. We need your support to help provide a building for the students. We are asking for donations of any amount or you may purchase an engraved brick for $250. Many businesses are purchasing the bricks as advertisement. Several bricks are in memory of loved ones that attended school or taught at Westside.
Whatever your connection is to the Westside community, please help us to build the new field house. All donations are tax deductible.
