Check out Soul Station in Tunnel Hill

There’s a store in Tunnel Hill called Soul Station, a nonprofit place for people who need help. It is run by a preacher, Mike Watkins. He and his wife have given to the community for many years. They give out food on Tuesdays and Thursdays. He is assisted by Samantha, his daughter-in-law and volunteer.

You should come in and look around. There are books, crafts, clothes and shoes — both new and used — and diapers and formula.

If you need Halloween costumes for your children, there are plenty, plus bags for trick-or-treating and party supplies. There will be a lot of Christmas decorations, also. If you have donations, you can drop them off. All profits go to buy food from the food bank.

If you need to counsel with a good Christian man, this man can be trusted. He is a true man of God. My two sons think so much of him that their families donate to the store, also.

So, go in and look around. You will find something you can use and the money goes to a good cause. If you do not attend a church, there is a service on Sunday at 11 a.m. at the store. The store is in the middle of the shopping center on Highway 41 between the barber shop and Cindy’s Diner.

Families are going through so much with all the layoffs and little money. We have to help each other. I am on a fixed income and don’t have money to give, but my donations can help a family who needs food for their children.

This store is the only one like it in Tunnel Hill. You could save time from driving to Dalton or Ringgold. Come in or just make a donation at the cash register. You could be helping your neighbor or volunteer to hang up clothes or put out things on shelves. Anything is appreciated.
