— The Quint Shepherd Family will be in concert Sunday at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. at Cedar Valley Cathedral of Praise. Services will continue Monday through Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. The church is on Cleveland Highway in Dalton

• The City View Church of God S.W.A.T. team will have an Easter service Sunday at 11 a.m. featuring singing, drama and sign language. A bake sale will follow.
The church is at 3688 Chatsworth Highway in Dalton.

• A spring fling benefit for Michelle King will be held April 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Old Eton School.
There will be live music, inflatable slides, games, food, a raffle and more. Tickets are 50 cents. Proceeds go toward medical bills. In the event of rain, the event will be held at Eton Elementary School.

• A nationwide town hall meeting with Dave Ramsey broadcasting live will be held April 23 at 8 p.m. at Salem Baptist Church in Dalton.

• A sunrise service and 20-year anniversary celebration will be held Sunday at 7 a.m. at United Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Clayton Brown will bring the message.
The cemetery is at 2744 Cleveland Highway in Dalton.

• The Verner Family will sing Sunday at 11 a.m. at Gospel Tabernacle in Dalton.

• Singing for the King and Midnight Call will be in concert April 18 at 7:30 p.m. at Open Door Light House Church.
The church will be in revival April 22-25 at 7:30 p.m. Special guests include David Hicks of Cleveland, Christopher Hooper and Annette Hooper.

• The third annual Ride for the Youth will be held May 9 at 9 a.m. at Maple Grove Baptist Church in Resaca. The last bike will leave at 11 a.m. The event is sponsored by the youth group.

• Valley Baptist Church will present the Easter drama “He’s Alive” Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.

• Harmony Grove Baptist Church will have an Easter sunrise service Sunday at 7:15 a.m. at the church cemetery.
The church is off Old Grade Road in Dalton. Pastor Charles “Bit” Parrish welcomes everyone.

• A missions revival will be held April 19-22 at Westview Baptist Church in Dalton. Sunday services begin at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. with remaining services beginning at 7 p.m.
The Sunday speaker will be the Rev. Billy Parson. The Rev. Danny Jenkins will bring the message Monday through Wednesday.

• Fellowship Baptist Church announces the following upcoming events:
Today — Easter egg hunt at 11 a.m.
Sunday — Sunrise service at 7:30 a.m. with breakfast to follow; worship at 10:30 a.m. featuring the children’s choir and young adult drama/dance team. The adult choir will present the musical-drama “In Christ Alone.”

• The Carpet Capital Women’s Network (CCWN) will have its monthly luncheon meeting Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at Western Sizzlin’ Steak House located on Legion Drive in Dalton.
Joyce Walker will be the guest speaker. Walker and her husband, the Rev. Bill Walker, reside in Cohutta and are members of Salem Baptist Church in Dalton.
Walker attended Florida College and took off-campus classes at Truett McConnell College. She has served with Bill as pastor’s wife since January, 1959. Walker has also served in teaching capacities from preschool to adult. She has been in leadership roles as preschool director, Woman’s Missionary Union director, Girls in Action director and others. She has served for 17 years as outreach director and taught numerous evangelism classes. Walker currently serves as outreach/care director and is team coordinator of Love Thy Neighbor Hospital Ministry for the Potter’s Clay Sunday school class.
CCWN is a marketplace ministry for women whose vision is to fill Christ’s mission by encouraging women with a sense of belonging to God and to each other, equipping women to develop spiritual maturity and become all they are to be in Christ and energizing women to bless others with the love, grace and truth of Jesus Christ.

• Dawnville United Methodist Church will have an Easter sunrise service Sunday at 7 a.m. with breakfast to follow. The congregation will decorate a cross with flowers at the beginning of the 11 a.m. worship service. Special music will be presented by the choir.

• Grace Baptist Church will have an Easter sunrise service Sunday at 7 a.m. with Brother Tony Headrick, Brother Alan Ledford and Brother Donald Young as special guests. Morning worship begins at 10:45. There will be no evening service.

• The Free Hope Baptist Church Choir will present an Easter cantata, “One Holy Lamb,” Sunday at 11 a.m. The choir is under the direction of Curtis Cochran.
There will be no evening service.

• A community-wide Easter sunrise service will be Sunday at 7 p.m. at Whitfield Memorial Gardens. A bluegrass band will play instrumental music and a message will be given by the Rev. Jim Suddath of Fellowship Bible Church.
The service is expected to last 30 minutes.

• Calvary Baptist Church in Crandall will present a Passion Play today at 7:30 p.m. in the church cemetery. Those attending are asked to bring a lawn chair and blanket.
The play depicts the life of Christ beginning on Palm Sunday through the Ascension.
If one of the nights is rained out, the play will be conducted the night it is not raining. If both are rained out, the play will be rescheduled for April 17-18 at 7:30.

• East Side Baptist Church has announced the following Easter events:
April 12 at 7 a.m. — An Easter sunrise service will be on the front lawn of the church. In the event of inclement weather, the service will be held in the sanctuary.

• Christ the King Lutheran Church has announced the following Holy Week events:
Today — Great Vigil of Easter at 8:15 p.m. symbolically re-enacting the rekindling of the Light of the World as Jesus passes from death into life
Sunday — Easter breakfast served the men of the congregation at 9 a.m.; worship at 10:30 a.m. with a festival service of Holy Communion followed by decoration of an Easter cross in front of the church with live flowers

Sunday — Sunrise service at 7 am. led by the Rev Cecil Self in the Antioch Cemetery; adult choir will present the musical “He’s Alive” at 10:30. No evening service.
April 26-29 — Revival each night at 7 p.m. with the Rev. David Ray as guest speaker. There will be special singing nightly.

• An Easter egg hunt for kids ages 2 to 10 will be held today from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Relentless Student Center. There will be 4,000 eggs full of candy plus prize eggs.
Participants are asked to bring their own baskets.

• Ecumenical Earth Day 2009 will be April 28 from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Dalton.
The free event seeks to educate the public about our role as stewards of the earth and includes music, crafts, petting, zoo, hot dog lunch and more. This year Ecumenical Earth Day is going green with Tennessee Interfaith Power and Light, Earthcare, the Dalton Tree Board, Rosewood Garden Center and others. A focus on water conservation will also continue with exhibits by Dalton Utilities, the Coosa River Basin Initiative and the Dalton State College Environmental Club.
Music will feature Gordon and Cathy DeLashmitt, Darlene Arnold, The Hilltoppers, Jeremy Smith and Soulshine. The Community Caretaker Award will also be given.

• The Oasis Project, a spiritually-based organization within New Covenant Deliverance Tabernacle, will host “A Night of Praise and Worship” today at 7 p.m.
The service will feature music, song, dance and testimonials. The Oasis Project endeavors to respond to the critical needs and problems of the community.

• First Presbyterian Church of Dalton will offer a grief recovery outreach program beginning April 20 from 6 to 8 p.m.
The 10-week program is for those who are experiencing the pain and anxiety of loss due to death, divorce or separation. It seeks to guide those whose lives have been affected by the death of a loved one or the end of a relationship — whether a recent loss or long ago. It is designed to help persons resolve their loss issues and move beyond grief to a richer quality of life.
Class size is limited and participants must preregister by April 17. There is a $35 fee which covers the cost of all workshop materials. Scholarships are available.

• Called, Hart to Hart and New Creations will be in concert April 18 at 6:30 p.m. at Bible Way Church of Jesus Christ in Murray County.

• North Georgia Baptist Temple will have its second annual motorcycle ride and youth fundraiser April 18 at 9 a.m. The ride will leave for Ellijay at 10 a.m.
Lunch will be provided for all registered riders at the church immediately following the ride. Preregistration fee is $25 for one rider and $35 for two riders. The cost is $30 for one rider and $40 for two riders the day of the event. All proceeds go toward the youth fund and bus ministry. The first 100 to preregister will receive a T-shirt.
