PBS crew filming at Chief Vann House

From Staff Reports
Dalton Daily Citizen

A PBS documentary titled “We Shall Remain: A Native History of America” (www.pbs.org/wgbh/amex/weshallremain/) is in its last day of production today at the Chief Vann House in Spring Place. The film crew from PBS started Thursday on a two-day shoot that features actor Wes Studi, who has appeared in numerous movies, including “Dances with Wolves” and “The Last of the Mohicans.”

The schedule for the airing of the five-part documentary, which is expected in 2009, will be released soon, officials said Thursday.

The film is not about the Vann House, said Vann House director Jeff Stancil, but the house is being used because of its Native American atmosphere. The Vann House is closed today as the segment wraps up.
