Back to the Book event Aug. 2

Back to the Book, for families with children in Dalton and Whitfield County in need of school supplies who will be entering pre-kindergarten through 12th grade (pre-qualification is required), will be Aug. 2. from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Dalton, 311 N. Thornton Ave.

The event is free for qualifying families. No screening will be done the day of the event. You may register or receive forms to participate at:

• DOC-Up (706-278-7883)

• Department of Family and Children Services (DFACS)

• North Georgia Community Action Center (706-226-7241)

• Family Support Council (706-272-7919)

• Dalton city or Whitfield County school outreach worker

• Family Life Center of First Baptist Church (706-278-2076), Monday through Friday, July 28-Aug. 1, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

No coats, socks or underwear will be given out, only school supplies. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Only students present will be served.
