State accepts voluntary cease and desist orders from Dalton car dealer

From Staff Reports

The Georgia State Board of Used Motor Vehicle Dealers has accepted Voluntary Cease and Desist Orders from Al's Used Cars for unlicensed practice at three locations in Dalton.

The locations are Matilda Street at Glenwood, Tyler Street at Glenwood, and 608 Glenwood Ave. Violations of the orders could result in fines of $500 for each transaction.

Allen Headrick, owner of Al’s Used Cars, said Monday the business is still able to sell from its location at 533 N. Glenwood Ave.

“I can’t have buyer’s guides in these cars across the street or somewhere other than my location here where I have a license at 533 (N. Glenwood),” Headrick said. “I cannot advertise them, I can not put prices on the windshield (at the other locations). They told me the way I was doing it now since I’d removed all the buyer’s guides and prices, that I was within their guidelines.”
