• Fellowship Baptist Church will celebrate homecoming Sunday at 10:30 a.m. with Brother Melvin Dixon as guest speaker. There will also be special music.
Lunch will be served after the service. There will be no Sunday school or evening service.
The church is at 3323 Crider Road in Rocky Face.

• “Free on the Inside Ride” is today at Eton Park. Registration will be from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m.
The fee is $25 per motorcycle for one or two people and includes a meal and shirt for one person. Additional meal tickets will be $5 and additional shirts will be $10.
The ride will begin at 10 a.m. and end back at Eton Park for fun, food and fellowship. Prizes will be given away and there will be a cruise-in following the ride.

• Lakeshore Park Baptist Church will celebrate homecoming and 20 years of service by Pastor Dennis Chasteen Sunday at 11 a.m. with Brother Alan Pacheco as guest speaker.
Food and fellowship will follow.
The church is at 12 Crescent St. in Dalton.

• Temple Baptist Church will celebrate homecoming Sunday at 11 a.m. with Pastor David Ray as guest speaker. There will also be special music.
A covered dish lunch will follow.
The church is at 2310 S. Dixie Highway in Dalton.

• Smyrna Baptist Church in Chatsworth will celebrate its 107th anniversary Sept. 21 at 10:30 a.m. There will be special music by the church choir, Janice Ridley Trio, Fred and Ted Welch and the Smyrna Quartet.
Lunch will be served following the service.
The church is on Brown Bridge Road. The Rev. Winford Casey welcomes everyone.

• Bethel A.M.E. Church will have its seventh annual Sunday school day celebration Sunday at 9 a.m. The event schedule is:
• 9 a.m. — Free prayer breakfast
• 9:45 a.m. — Sunday school
• 11 a.m. — Worship service

Former Dalton native the Rev. Scott W. Shepard recently earned his bachelor’s of arts degree in pastoral ministry from Trinity Theological Seminary/Trinity College of the Bible in Newburgh, Ind. He is married to the former Catrina Cochran of Adairsville, and is the son of Frank and Elaine Shepard of Dalton.
The commencement ceremony was at the school where Shepard graduated with honors and he is a member of the National Omicron-Psi Honor Society.
Shepard recently accepted the position of pastor at Brandon’s Chapel Baptist Church in Cartersville. He is currently pursuing his master’s at Trinity Theological Seminary. He and Catrina currently reside in Adairsville.

• A gigantic yard sale will be Sept. 20 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Valley Brook Church of God. Tables are available for rent at $10.

• Five Springs United Methodist Church will celebrate homecoming Sept. 21 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Doug Jordan as guest speaker. Lunch will follow.
The church is at 2823 Five Springs Road in Dalton.

• A benefit festival sponsored by Galilee Baptist Church will be held Sept. 20 at 8 a.m. at Eton Park in Eton.
Activities include cakewalks, Chinese cake sale, face painting, auction, craft sale, huge yard sale and dunking booth. There will also be entertainment by the Mountain Harmony Boys and food and drinks available.
The public is invited.

• Carolyn Baptist Church has announced the following upcoming events:
• Sunday — Homecoming celebrating 53 years. A covered dish lunch will follow.
• Sept. 28 — Church picnic at church. Activities and games begin at 5 p.m., followed by the meal at 6 p.m. and worship at 7 p.m.
The church is at 2305 Cleveland Highway in Dalton. Dr. David Kitchens, pastor, welcomes everyone.

• New and Living Way Bible Church in Rome will host its annual Women’s Conference Sept. 19-20. The theme is “Redeemed, Restored, Released.”
The conference will begin Friday at 7 p.m. with Pastor Faith Dennis as speaker. Services continue Saturday at 10 a.m. with Minister Jennifer Carner as speaker. Registration fee is $5 which includes lunch on Saturday.
