Missions conference coming to trade center

The Northwest Georgia Trade and Convention Center in Dalton will be the venue for the 2009 Missions Conference of the “To Every Tribe” ministries.

“The Privilege of Suffering — Jesus is worth it!” is the theme for the conference Oct. 29-31. Featured speakers include David Sitton, founder and president of To Every Tribe Ministries, Los Fresnos, Texas; Erwin Lutzer, senior pastor, The Moody Church, Chicago; Timothy George, dean, Beeson Divinity School, Birmingham, Ala.; Hershael York, preaching professor, the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Ky.; and David Sills, missions professor, the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Sitton has been involved in church planting among headhunting and cannibalistic tribes in the interior of New Guinea for nearly 30 years. There are 34 churches established and more than 2,400 disciples. There are approximately 6,000 tribes worldwide, representing as many as 200 million individuals who speak more than 5,100 languages.

The public is invited to attend the evening services for free.

Music for the conference will be provided by the First Baptist Men’s Ensemble and L’Abri Symphony Orchestra.
