"The Magic Number 50": Dalton Middle student pens poem on DHS win streak

Travis Nielson is a sixth-grader at Dalton Middle School. He wrote this poem as part of a lesson on prepositions during his literacy block. School officials say this illustrates well one of the literacy goals of Dalton Public Schools — to encourage student writers to incorporate real experiences into their work.

At Harmon Field

On a Thursday Night

Against Rome

Out of the locker rooms

Onto the field

Between the two crowds

Among bigger players

Without fear

Past the defenders

Across the goal line

With the lead

Out of time

Catamounts beat the Wolves

50 years of winning!!!!!
