GNTC announces addition of Murray and Whitfield counties to Adult Education Program

Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) has added Murray and Whitfield counties to its service area for adult education. These counties were previously served in adult education by Dalton State College.

“Dalton State College and Georgia Northwestern Technical College adult education programs are working together to provide an easy and transparent transition for students and the communities being served,” stated Connie H. Smith, GNTC vice president for Adult Education.

Georgia Northwestern will have two adult learning centers including one in Murray County and one in Whitfield County. The Murray County Adult Learning Center is at 100 Magnolia Lane, Chatsworth. The Whitfield County Adult Learning Center is housed at Georgia Northwestern’s Whitfield Murray Campus at 2310 Maddox Chapel Road in Dalton.

Services provided through GNTC’s Adult Education Program include instructional preparation for the GED test, adult secondary education, adult basic education and English as a second language. GNTC’s Murray and Whitfield centers will have modern computer labs, study materials and resources, and professional adult education staff for both day and evening programs. Classes operate year round on the GNTC calendar for fall, spring and summer semesters. Adults at least 18 years of age who have not graduated from high school in the United States or Canada or previously earned a GED credential are eligible to enroll in classes at no charge.
