One airlifted in Cleveland Highway crash

— At least one person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries following a two-vehicle crash on Cleveland Highway near Pleasant Grove Elementary School Saturday afternoon.

According to a statement from the Georgia State Patrol, “The investigating trooper charged Amy Nicole Raburn, 26, from Dalton, with failing to maintain lane, DUI, serious injury by vehicle and driving on the wrong side of the roadway. She was driving a 1999 Ford Ranger.”

Raburn’s truck collided with a hatchback vehicle that a responder on scene said was traveling in the opposite direction on Cleveland Highway when the wreck occurred at about 1:30 p.m.

According to a responder, the driver of the hatchback was taken by Life Force helicopter to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. Additional information on the injured person wasn’t immediately available.
