Authorities say they will likely never know why a man drove head-on into oncoming traffic in Murray County on Monday, killing one woman and injuring another before the man succumbed to his own injuries.
Georgia State Patrol Trooper Michael Hall said Jerry Dwayne Bryson of Chatsworth died the same day as the Monday afternoon wreck that occurred on Ga. Highway 225 just north of Ga. Highway 286.
Officials said Bryson was traveling south and hit two vehicles traveling north head-on. Connie Lou Rogers Griggs, 54, of Dalton, died from her injuries. Barbara Hart, 70, of Dalton, was taken to Murray Medical Center but is expected to recover, Hall said.
Hall said there’s no way to know now what caused Bryson to veer into traffic.
