Man hospitalized in Dawnville stabbing

From Staff Reports

— Authorities are investigating exactly what happened after a Dawnville man was taken to a local hospital with multiple stab wounds on Wednesday.

Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Rick Swiney said the investigation is ongoing, and so far there are no arrests. Steven Lee Tucker, owner of Dawnville Billiards and Games at 1906 Dawnville Road, was stabbed several times, but officials haven’t said yet who stabbed him.

“We’ve got different stories from different individuals as to actually what happened,” Swiney said.

A family member reached by phone declined comment and referred questions to Tucker. She said he was still recovering in the hospital. Swiney said Tucker is in good condition and expected to recover.

Adam Harrison, who co-owns Dawnville Pawn and Trade with his wife, said Tucker opened the pool hall next door to his shop a couple of months ago.

“I hate it for him,” Harrison said of the stabbing. “He’s a pretty good guy.”
