Junior Achievement will kick off its 43rd annual JA Company Program on Tuesday, Oct. 1, with a “Pizza Orientation” for area high school students. This is a fun way of learning about the real business world.
The meeting will be from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Junior Achievement Center at 411 Mitchell St. in Dalton.
In this program area high school students will meet once a week for 12 weeks. In groups of approximately 20 students, they will start a business enterprise and establish departments. Each department is responsible for that function of the business, and all employees (called Achievers) are responsible for producing and selling their product.
Achievers can earn pay and sales commissions while working towards awards and other recognition. Following participation in the program, students will be able to apply their business and entrepreneurial skills to education, career and service pursuits and recognize the significance of personal responsibility and financial literacy in making positive life decisions.
Students interested in attending the orientation should contact Judy Norris at firstname.lastname@example.org with their name, school, grade and contact information or call JA at (706) 278-9180.
