One killed in wreck (Updated 11:50 a.m.)

One person was killed and two others were injured in a one-vehicle wreck on I-75 Wednesday morning.

The driver of the vehicle lost control when the left tire blew, causing the vehicle to leave the road and travel down an embankment, then overturn, a Georgia State Patrol spokesman said. The wreck happened in the northbound lanes of I-75 near mile marker 338 just after 5 a.m.

The driver and a front seat passenger were not wearing seat belts and were ejected, the spokesman said.

Kenniqua Johnson, 26, of Chattanooga, was killed.

Famica Hill, 32, of Chattanooga, was taken by LifeForce air ambulance to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. LaKendra Taylor, 34, also of Chattanooga, was taken to Hamilton Medical Center.

It has not been determined by investigators who was driving.

The crash is being investigated by the state patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT).
