Runoff candidate forum tonight

The public is invited to Ryman Hall tonight at 6:30 for a runoff candidate forum hosted by the Dalton Tea Party.

Those expected to participate are Jack Kingston and David Perdue or their campaign representatives, from the Republican U.S. Senate race; Renee Davis and Barry Robbins, Republicans in the runoff for the District 1 seat on the Whitfield County Board of Commissioners; and incumbent David Blevins and Dalton Municipal Court Judge Jim Wilbanks, candidates for a nonpartisan seat on Superior Court.

Each candidate will participate in prepared questions presented by a guest facilitator.

Former Dalton mayor David Pennington will present a “State of the State of Georgia Grassroots” by reporting on the many tea parties and grassroots organizations he visited across Georgia as he ran unsuccessfully for the Republican nomination for governor.

The Dalton Tea Party does not endorse candidates but rather promotes limited government, fights for fairer taxes and promotes maximum personal liberties. Everyone is welcome tonight and each third Tuesday night at Ryman Hall for a community meeting featuring guest speakers locally and from across the state.
