2013 Northwest Georgia Career Expo set for Wednesday

Northwest Georgia job seekers will have the opportunity to connect with representatives from more than 35 companies who are looking to fill vacant positions during a career expo on Wednesday from 1 to 4 p.m. in Walker County.

The 2013 Northwest Georgia Career Expo is being hosted by the Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL), the Walker County Chamber of Commerce and the Northwest Georgia Joint Development Authority. It will be at the Walker County Civic Center at 10052 N. Highway 27 in Rock Spring.  

Company representatives from North Georgia and Tennessee will be filling jobs in a number of different fields and positions including manufacturing, assemblers, twisters, creelers, warehouse workers, forklift operators, machine operators, material handlers, maintenance technicians and CDL drivers. There will also be several major retailers participating in the expo, as well as representatives from health care and social services.

Applicants should bring several copies of their resume and be prepared to complete applications and interview on site. Job seekers are also reminded to dress professionally for the expo to improve their opportunities for interviews and employment.
