Kingston gains local support in quest for Senate

Several local officials have joined the ranks of those endorsing U.S. Rep. Jack Kingston, R-Savannah, in his campaign for the U.S. Senate.

State Sen. Charlie Bethel of Dalton and state Reps. Bruce Broadrick of Dalton and John Meadows of Calhoun confirmed they have endorsed Kingston. All three are Republicans.

“I believe he is the best person for the job,” said Meadows.

Kingston has also been endorsed by Eton Mayor Billy Cantrell.

Kingston is one of seven candidates seeking the Republican nomination for Senate in the May 20 primary.
