Earthquake felt in Cohutta

— A 2.8 magnitude earthquake felt in Cohutta this morning originated in Tennessee, according to the National Geological Survey.

The organization's website, earthquake.usgs.gov, shows the earthquake occurred at 1:47 a.m. about six miles from Apison, Tenn. An earthquake of this magnitude isn't usually known to cause damage, according to the organization's website, earthquake.usgs.gov.
