Submitted by the Whitfield County Republican Party
Being a part of the Republican Party means taking an active role in its proceedings. With congressional and U.S. Senate elections upcoming in 2014, the organizational meetings and conventions of our party from today through May 18 of this year are extremely important.
The first step of involvement are the grassroots local precinct meetings. The Whitfield County Republican Party invites true conservative voters to participate with other conservatives in your community by joining the precinct mass meeting today at the local GOP headquarters, downtown at 111 N. Pentz St. Doors open at 9 a.m. for registration and the meeting begins promptly at 10.
All registered voters who identify themselves as Republicans are welcome to participate in this grassroots level of becoming a delegate to the county convention on March 9. The number of delegates and alternates from each precinct is based on a percentage of how many people voted for the Romney/Ryan ticket in your precinct. At the county convention, leadership officers will be elected to serve for the next two years, and delegates and alternates who will represent your county at the district and state conventions held in April and May.
