Fort Mountain State Park celebrates 75 years



75th Anniversary Celebration activities


• 9 to 9:30 a.m. — Non-denominational service at Pavilion 2.

• 10 a.m. to noon — Old-fashioned kids’ games in the grassy area next to the group shelter by the beach.

• 2 to 4 p.m. — Slide show of the park through the years, displays, concessions and guided hikes meeting at Shelter 7. Wagon rides are available from Shelter 1 to Shelter 7, and a $1 donation is requested to cover fuel costs.

Monday through Friday — Junior Ranger Camp for children ages 6 to 12 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. each day. There will be a wide variety of activities. Lunch is included. The cost is $45.

Friday — Make s’mores and enjoy a marshmallow roast at 8 p.m. followed by an “Introduction to Camping at Fort Mountain” session. Donations are requested to cover food costs.
