Bond hearings on Friday for four arrested in shooting case (Updated 4:20 p.m.)

The four people arrested in connection with the shooting death of a security guard at Las Delicias nightclub on East Morris Street in Dalton early Sunday morning are expected to have bond hearings on Friday in Whitfield County Superior Court before Judge Blevins, the district attorney says. Court begins at 9 a.m.

A first appearance hearing for Orlando “Smiley” Ramirez, 20, who is charged with homicide and two counts of aggravated assault for the shooting death of Bruno Rodriguez, a 28-year-old security guard, and for shooting a second security guard in the neck and leg, was this afternoon. It ended with the case being referred to Superior Court.

Ramirez’s girlfriend, Alexa Jiminez, 18, is charged with hindering the apprehension or punishment of a criminal.

Two others, Juvencio Vega-Garcia, 20, and Fernando Antonio Resendiz, 21, both of Whitfield County, have been charged as homicide accessories to the crime at Las Delicias.
