DPD seeks missing man (Updated 11 a.m.)

Tuesday morning update

The Dalton Police Department was informed Tuesday morning by a family member of Michael Franks that he was spotted in Marion County, Tenn., near Jasper, on foot. It’s possible he was walking on a road in the direction of Knoxville. The lady who saw him contacted local police but they were unable to locate him. She had seen a report of him being missing on the news. He has apparently changed clothes.

The Dalton Police Department is asking for the public’s help with finding a man who went missing Sunday night. Forty-eight-year old Michael L. “Paul” Franks was last seen leaving his apartment at 820 Shugart Road at approximately 7 p.m. 

His cellphone was later found at the Greyhound bus station in Chattanooga. Family members have told investigators that he might be headed towards Knoxville, Tenn.  

Franks is a white male standing approximately 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighing approximately 190 pounds. Family members believe he was wearing the clothes in the accompanying photo.
