Restaurant report card — Whitfield County


— Whitfield County Environmental Health conducts inspections of restaurants. The inspectors may require a re-inspection. Restaurants are required by law to post their most recent inspection permit. The Daily Citizen lists areas where the establishments are out of compliance with the regulations.

Place cloths in sanitizer bucket when not in use. Dumpster lid was open. Keep lid doors closed. Kitchen walls and floors are dirty. Dishes — 50 ppm. Bucket — 100 ppm.

Comments: Ready-to-eat, potentially hazardous foods were observed without any use-by date. Any ready-to-eat, potentially hazardous foods that will last greater than 24 hours need to be marked with a use-by date seven days to use food including day the food was prepared or opened. Wiping cloth was observed on counter. Place wet cloths in sanitizer bucket when not in use. Plates and pans were observed uncovered or not inverted. Knifes were being stored under hot holding device. The surface in contact with knives was visibly dirty. Keep all clean utensils covered and stored in a manner that prevents contamination.



Emperor of China, 1223 Glenwood Ave.

Comments: Foods were observed out of cold holding temperature. Shrimp in walk-in will be discarded. Food must be kept at 41 degrees or lower for cold holding. Shrimp was observed thawing in a bucket of water. Thawing must be done under refrigeration that will not allow food to rise above 41 degrees or under consistent running water. Food not to be thawed in still water. Handle of scoop was observed buried in flour and another in corn starch. Handles must not come in contact with food to avoid contamination.
