Work begins today on Rocky Face Interchange

From Staff Reports

— Southbound traffic on I-75 will be shifted to the left between Exit 336/State Route 3/U.S. 41 and Exit 333/Walnut Avenue in Whitfield County starting at 9 this morning for work on reconstructing the Rocky Face interchange, the Georgia Department of Transportation said.

This traffic shift is weather permitting and subject to change. The work marks the beginning of reconstruction of the interchange of I-75 and U.S. 41. The project also includes the construction of four bridges and installation of intersection video detection systems.

Work on this project has just begun. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by the end of June 2016, at a construction cost of nearly $34 million.
