Restaurant report card — Whitfield County

Whitfield County Environmental Health conducts inspections of restaurants. The inspectors may require a re-inspection. Restaurants are required by law to post their most recent inspection permit.

The Daily Citizen lists areas where the establishments are out of compliance with the regulations. Recent restaurant scores for all six counties within the North Georgia Health District are available at www.nghd.org.

Ceiling must be repaired throughout kitchen area. Some areas are falling in (rear, by dry storage). All must be stable, in good repair and closed to avoid letting in dust or pests. Multiple light bulbs were found without shields. Place shields on all bulbs in kitchen, prep and storage areas.

    A man is being held in the Whitfield County Jail on multiple charges for using a fraudulent Social Security card with someone else’s Social Security number to land a job at a rug manufacturer in Dalton and for providing false information to receive workers’ compensation benefits, according to the Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation’s Enforcement Division.
